Foster Care Fortnight 13th-26th May 2024

Foster Care Fortnight is around the corner and over the next two weeks Beacon Fostering will be using our social media channels to share as much information about fostering as possible.

In the UK, there are currently over 70,000 children and young people living in foster care and the need for more foster carers has never been greater. In a 2021 analysis report by Think-Tank, the Social Market Foundation predicts that there will be a shortage of 25,000 carers in England by 2026 (Social Market Foundation, 2021).

At Beacon Fostering, our mission is to recruit more foster carers and support them, and current foster families across the North West of England. Our decades of experience allow us to approach this in a professional, yet friendly, way.

One challenge we will be taking part in over this Foster Care Fortnight is The Fostering Network’s Foster Walk. The aim of the Foster Walk is to either walk or run 70km (5k a day) across the two weeks.

Make sure you are following us across our social platforms (shown below) to keep up with our Foster Walk progress.

This year’s Foster Care Fortnight theme is #FosteringMoments, so you can also join in with different challenges such as the Foster Walk and share your progress using that hashtag. If you would like to join us in completing Foster Walk, sign up for free using the link below.
