From Corporate Strategy to Human Impact: Why I’m Starting a New Chapter in Purpose-Led Marketing at Beacon Fostering

Beacon Fostering are delighted to welcome our newest recruit, as Carolyn Williams joins the Beacon Fostering family! Carolyn has written a few words below about her previous experiences and explains what she will bring to the team.

After nearly two decades in the corporate world leading B2B marketing strategies and aligning sales with marketing to drive measurable growth last year marked an opportunity to review my future career goals. Like many professionals in today’s business landscape, I found myself at a natural crossroads as my previous role ended.

It was a moment that gave me time to reflect.

I had the space to stop and ask myself: What’s next and more importantly, what matters most?

While I’ve always found fulfilment in shaping marketing campaigns, working with other team members, building demand, and delivering results, I knew I wanted to use these skills in a different way.

That’s why I’m incredibly proud to be starting a new role as Marketing Officer and Administration Officer at Beacon Fostering.

In this new position, I’ll be responsible for recruiting foster carers, individuals who provide safe, stable, and supportive homes for children who need them most. It’s work that is very rewarding, helping people to start their fostering journey. And while the challenge is very different from the corporate world I’ve come from, the Beacon Fostering agency’s vision is one I feel personally connected to: giving every child the chance to thrive.

I bring with me a strong foundation in strategic marketing from launching integrated multi-channel campaigns, to building strategies, to mentoring teams and aligning marketing efforts to measurable returns. Now, I’m applying those skills to support something truly meaningful: people.

This career opportunity is more than a new job. It’s a values realignment. It’s a commitment to using my experience not just to grow pipelines, but to grow impact.

To those who may be facing a similar crossroads, know that endings can lead to new beginnings. I’m excited for this new chapter, through the difference I can make in bringing my marketing skills and experience to fostering.

If you’re interested in foster care, know someone who might be, or just want to connect and share insights on purpose-driven marketing, I’d love to hear from you.

Here’s to new directions, meaningful work, and the opportunities that we can embrace.
